A peasant girl meets a Prince at a ball, they dance and they sharean earth shattering kiss, but she’s no ordinary peasant girl and he is no ordinary Prince.  Arabelle is the leader of a resistance group opposing the monarchy and Marius is their vampire Prince.
I have to say I don’t usually read PNR romance because it’s not my thing, but I was attracted by the “Cinderella like you’ve never seen before” on the blurb and I have to say, I might now be totally sold on vampire romance, at least as written by Ms. Cross.
OMG, did I like this book? No.  I f-loved it from beginning to end!  This is the best take on a fairy tale I’ve seen in a long time.
Marius is not the arrogant, power driven man Arabella originally thinks he is and Arabella is a woman ready to take care of her people.  Both of them are willing to fight for what they love and even sacrifice their lives in the process.
I was totally enthralled by the world around them, the secondary characters and the story in general.  I think this book didn’t have any waste and the mystery they set up to uncover gives the story an element of suspense I enjoyed a lot.
Being a first time reader for the author, I have to say I was seriously impressed and not only will I be waiting for the next book of the Tales of the Black Lily, but I’ll be sure to check more of her work.

ABOUT JULIETTE CROSS

Juliette is a multi-published author of paranormal and urban fantasy romance. She calls lush, moss-laden Louisiana home where she lives with her husband, four kids, and black lab named Kona. From the moment she read JANE EYRE as a teenager, she fell in love with the Gothic romance–brooding characters, mysterious settings, persevering heroines, and dark, sexy heroes. Even then, she not only longed to read more books set in Gothic worlds, she wanted to create her own.
