As the Dating Guy on L.A.’s top morning show, I give the
single guy’s perspective on dating, love, and sex—and I give great advice. Everyone’s
hooking up…well, except for me. Sure, I can get any woman I want, but I’ve got
a “no relationship” clause in my contract and the only woman I want has
“relationship” written all over her. Probably stamped on her ass, too. And
wouldn’t I like to confirm that.
Unfortunately, she wants nothing to do with me. At all.
Something about the next Ice Age might have even come up in her rebuttal.
Adorable. Because she’s determined to ignore what one simple kiss proved: she
wants me as badly as I want her.
Everything in me is screaming to go after her, but I’ve got
a secret that I’m fairly certain will end up with her roasting my nuts over an
open fire. So, job on the line? Check. Nuts on the line? Check. Can’t get her
out of my head? Nail…meet coffin. But what a way to go…

Teague Watters moved to L.A. to follow her dream of being on her own and making it by herself.  Being the baby of 4 siblings, a Daddy’s girl, she needed to fly the nest to find her backbone.
Mateo Gallagher is a man with a secret.  Anonymity is required for his job and he likes it that way until one night, at a bar, he has a run in with a beautiful and wholesome girl.
This was my first read by Ms. Bielman, but most definitely won’t be my last.  I fell in love with Mateo and Teague, both individually and as a couple.  Though we get the vibe that Teague is a pleaser and can’t say no to anyone, she’s not that at all.  She’s caring, loyal and compassionate and she takes pride in what she does.  Mateo is a heartbreaker and, though he comes across as an arrogant jerk, he’s been guarding his heart for too long and is nothing of the kind, something that shows when he never requests what he knows Teague is not ready to give.
I loved the build-up in this book, the time they spend together, getting to know each other despite knowing the underlined chemistry will take them in a path with no return.
The story is engaging, full of sassiness, sexiness and many cute, heartfelt moments.  It was most definitely not what I expected, but it was better in a different way.
I’m hoping the secondary characters get their own stories, specially Harper.  Because a bff deserves her own HEA.
