Synopsis
I just wanted an easy summer job…That didn’t happen. Now, I’m in a living nightmare as I work alongside this monster of a man with mesmerizing emerald eyes that look at me inappropriately every time I see him. To add insult to injury, he has a tan I just want to lick, and a butt worth drooling over every time he purposefully walks by me. But, he’s an asshat, and looks are everything. I mean, aren’t. LOOKS. ARE. NOT. EVERYTHING. Why do I have to keep reminding myself of this?

His job is to clean, cook, and tend to the house we work in. That’s why I call him the manservant. Oh, and because it drives him nuts. That’s what he gets for torturing me.

This is a story of little restraint, too much desire, questionable actions, no strength whatsoever, and the best sex I’ve ever had.

The question is: Do I fall for this crude manservant whose idea of a fun time is to tie people up and do obscene things, or do I give him a taste of his own medicine?

All I’m going to say is . . . Things get weird, then hot, then weird again, and—you get my drift.

Go ahead and laugh. It might not be so funny if it happened to you.

Goodreads
Fresh out of college, Julia is leaving her hometown in Indiana for a summer internship in Maine.  At least, that’s what she tells her father…
In reality, Julia has taken a job as a nanny in the hope of her last summer of freedom before going into the big bad world of adulthood.  Her BFF Jade recommended her for the job so, what could possibly go wrong?
A sexy, but seriously broody male housekeeper with a big secret, a handsome Canadian surfer wanting to date her, a brokenhearted best friend and a special needs child will turn this summer into anything but the easygoing experience Julia thought it would be.  Add to the mix her swearing off men for the past year, her extreme proclivity to accidents and a brain-to-mouth connection that gets her in trouble more times than not and you’ll practically have an episode of I Love Lucy.
This was my first read by Ms. Ryan and I have to say I was very impressed.  Manservant is a cute and hilarious romance that will have you laughing out loud…a lot.
Julia is a complete and utter mess, good hearted, but still a mess.  Liam, on the other hand, is cocky, arrogant and a complete jerk to all except the people in the household, especially the young boy they end up caring for together.  He has a big heart, but you have to scratch a lot to find it.  The secondary characters were all on point.  I enjoyed crazy Jade and her ongoing drama as well as the whole Sterling situation and I could very much relate to the issues with Dylan having been there myself.
Now, what I liked the best of the whole book, the part that had me laughing to the point of tears, is chapter 18.  It was one of the most hysterical chapters I’ve read in any rom-com to date.
Bottom-line, if you want to relax with a fun, sexy read with a HEA, pick up a copy of Manservant.  It won’t disappoint!
