Meeting him was a fluke. Dating him was a mistake. Watching him become a drug addict put me through hell. Running was my only option.

I’m running from my demons and when I find out she’s trying to escape her past, I know what I have to do.
One broken cop. One woman fighting for her life. A fragile love.
Sinister secrets that threaten to tear them apart.
They’ve been to hell. The hard part will be finding their way back together.
This book really took me to hell and back!! Bella has been in an extremely abusive relationship for the past few years. One day she finally gets the courage to leave and do what’s best for her and her daughter Lilah. She moves into her deceased grandmothers house and tries to start fresh. But the thing is she really isn’t living. She’s in constant fear and not getting any better. Both her and Lilah are prisoners in their new home. We have a hottie detective neighbor next door named Jackson. From the moment he met them he couldn’t help but feel protective of them. He forced his way into their life whether Bella liked it or not. At first I thought Jackson was way too pushy but he was exactly what Bella and Lilah needed. They needed to know it was ok to be happy again and not to live in fear all the time. I loved how good Jackson was when it came to Bella but especially Lilah. He was their protection the monsters.  In this book we had one heck of a plot twist I didn’t see coming. I was in utter shock. I had to get confirmation from a friend that I did indeed read that correctly. This part in the book really threw me for a loop. I loved this book as a whole. It showed us how to have courage and to move on after something terrible has happened. It’s ok to have hope. It’s ok to be happy.  It’s ok to love again. It’s ok. This was my first time reading anything by this author and it won’t be my last. The story flowed, the secondary characters were great and didn’t over power the story. This story just sucked me in and I didn’t let me go! I can’t wait for Mick (Jackson’s partner) and Marissa story next!!

About Natasha Madison:
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
