Dirty English Tropes
The British are coming, the British are coming!!
I loved everything about this book! We have Elizabeth, who after suffering a tragic event has sworn off love forever. She has a certain set of rules that she has followed for the last few years. Enter Declan, who is dealing with his own issues. They are both attracted to each other but feel that they will be hurt in the end. We have a lot of back and forth, will they or won’t they and I enjoyed every minute of the story! When they get together you can feel the attraction and also feel them fighting the connection. The character development was good and I like how the author took the time to develop their relationship.
“She was my queen and I wanted to be her king. I wanted to sit at the throne of her body and love her forever.”
When the past comes back to haunt Elizabeth, Declan wasted no time protecting his woman. He gave her the strength, security and confidence she needed to face her demons head on!! Elizabeth had given Declan love and support that he needed as well. I loved seeing two broken people come together and complete each other! They both had issues and made the changes to be with one another and they also accepted each other’s faults as well. This is what love and being in relationship is all about!! Compromise. Acceptance. Support. Understanding.
“I want to visit my mum’s grave with you and tell her how I found the perfectly broken girl to fall in love with.”
Declan, has a twin brother Dax. I LOVED Dax in this story, there’s definitely more to this “sex god” and I can’t wait to read his book!  Shelley, Elizabeth’s best friend was also another character I enjoyed and I hope we see more of her in the next book. This was my first time reading this author and she has a new fan!! Bring on Filthy English!!
