The whole stethoscope-and-white coat thing isn’t my cup of tea.
I prefer a man with an artistic vein in his body. 9 – 5 hours. And I can definitely do without the half-lidded, sleepy bedroom eyes. (Okay, so those are kind of sexy.)

Tall, dark, and handsome doesn’t change the fact that he’s arrogant, cocky, and rude.
Not that I care, but he’s made it clear he wants nothing to do with a quirky girl like me, which is why he said no.
Turns out no isn’t an option.
I have a quickie wedding to plan, and Dr. Jake Kissinger doesn’t have a choice. He looks at our situation like he’s stuck with me, but in reality I’m stuck with him. Stuck with his pouty mouth. His long, lean body. And stuck with those loose, low riding scrub pants. (Okay, so the doctor thing is growing on me.)
When spending time together turns into more than it should, I know I’m in trouble.
He isn’t supposed to make my heart pound.
I’m not supposed to make him look twice.
And we aren’t supposed to spend the night together. (Okay, so he has more than one artistic vein in his body, and other places.)

Falling for him is definitely a mistake.
Here’s the thing…
Jake is unavailable, and I know it.
Just not in the way you might think.
I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
After taking over her uncle’s wedding planning business, Jules Easton is trying to land the one wedding that can give her the boost she needs to keep it afloat.  See, the girl can plan the heck out of any wedding with the right budget, but she sucks at managing a business.
With the wedding party comes the sexy AF, brooding doctor that rattles her foundation and who also has the power to take this job away from her.  Jake Kissinger is sex on legs and flirty, but when Jules jumps to conclusions, she’ll jeopardize everything she’s working for and then some.
I just loved this book.  Everything about it.  This story is sexy and romantic, but it’s also full of the emotion that comes from grief, pain and a misplaced sense of guilt.  It also made me think about people in that situation and what they must have felt or are feeling in real life.
Jake and Jules are destined to be together, “written in the stars” as she says and their story is one that, IMO, should not be missed.

Love birds, chocolate and finding your one and only. I really enjoyed The Thing About Love by Kim Karr.  Juliette and Jake learned what was important in life and especially that they were children of 9/11.
Jules had an eye for planning a spectacular weddings however the business side was not her thing.  When her uncle left the business to Jules, she ran the company to the ground and exhausted her life savings.  Her “Hail Mary” was trying to land the wedding of all weddings.   When the bride loves your ideas but her brother, Jake refuses to hire you, she’s at a loss.   However, when the brides grandmother health deteriorates, Jake relizes he needs Jules help to make it happen as soon as possible.

She was cynical of finding her true love.  She was struck when she saw Jake.  Something about him drew her to him.  And likewise with him.  Chemistry and passion were like fireworks when they were together.  Jules had to learn about herself and to let her heart open.  Jake fell in love with her but he had a dream to follow in his dad’s footsteps.  They both knew they had an expiration date but decided to proceed in their relationship.  And when that day happened, they both had to learn what is important.  Following the heart and finding their love.
