So I now see why a lot of my book friends are Jodi Ellen Malpas fans. This was my first book by her and definitely not my last!! Jake is hired to watch a new client named Camille Logan. At first he’s against it but later changed his mind. The thing with Jake is that he isn’t your typical bodyguard. Jake is broken and dealing with some serious issues. Camille is the party girl everyone makes out to be. So the fact they come together makes perfect sense. In the beginning they don’t get along at all but there is a spark, which of course they both try to deny. These moments were so delicious. They would constantly test each other and butt heads and I loved every minute of it! Then we have a lot of teasing and tempting. The slow burn and build up was everything. When they finally do get together I was fanning myself!! While reading this book I was hit with a slew of emotions. I was laughing out loud, sighing, shaking my head and was dropping my jaw. There are so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I suggest holding on tight while reading this book! I loved me some Jake but I wished he would have let Camille all the way in once they made things official. Jake is dealing with some heartbreaking issues from his past. The guilt and remorse he feels is gut wrenching. I wanted to reach in the book and give him a hug. Even when Camille let her walls down he continued to block her out and that pissed me off!! I understand why he did what he did but come on!! The ending of the book was good but I wish we would have gotten more. I’m hoping we will get a novella in the future. Overall, the writing in this book was great, the story kept me intrigued and I couldn’t put it down. I will definitely be checking out more book from this author.
