New Release+Review: The Playboy Bachelor by Rachel Van Dyken
THE PLAYBOY BACHELOR by Rachel Van Dyken (August 29, 2017; Forever Mass Market; $7.99; The Bachelors of Arizona Book 2)
NOW IN MASS MARKET PAPERBACK!
She’s no Sleeping Beauty. And he’s definitely no prince . . .
Margot McCleery could have lived her whole life without seeing Bentley Wellington again-her ex-best friend and the poster boy for Hot, Rich Man-Whores everywhere. But Margot’s whiskey-augmented grandmother “buys” Bentley at a charity bachelor auction, and now suddenly he’s at her door. Impossibly charming. Impossibly sexy. And still a complete and utter jackass.
Bentley’s just been coerced by his grandfather to spend the next thirty days charming and romancing the reclusive red-haired beauty who hates him. The woman he abandoned when she needed him the most. Bentley knows just as much about romance as he knows about love-nothing. But the more time he spends with Margot, the more he realizes that “just friends” will never be enough. Now all he has to do is convince her to trust him with her heart . . .

Bentley seems like your typical rich playboy bachelor but there’s more to him that meets the eye. I honestly wasn’t expecting him to be the guy he turned out to be in this book. He was caring, kind, loyal, selfless and put other people’s needs before his and often buried his emotions. I loved seeing this other side of him
and I was rooting for him throughout the whole story.
Margot has suffered a very traumatic experience and lives her life as a recluse. She doesn’t leave the house. Ever. Her and Bentley used to be best friends but something tragic pushed them apart. They are forced to be reunited and things aren’t easy to say the least. I loved Bent and Red together. They fought hard and I do mean hard. They were like bulls!! They were both hurting in different ways and both were so STUBBORN at times!!! After their walls come down we have the making of a wonderful love story. Both characters were able to help and heal each other plus they grew in several ways and that’s what a good relationship is all about!! I really enjoyed seeing Bentley and Margot face their fears and build a future together.
This book had so many of my favorite tropes and I loved every minute of this story. I’ve been looking forward to Bentley’s story after reading “The Bachelor Auction” and it didn’t disappoint! The writing was good, the story flowed and I found myself sad when it was over. I also loved how flawed the characters were in this story. Yes, they have money and good looks but this story shows that isn’t everything. Money can only do but so much. Rachel Van Dyken did a wonderful job with this story and I can’t wait to read Brant’s story next.
