I was done.

Done with men.

Women say it all the time; they get fed up, throw their hands in the air, and vow a life of celibacy—until the next chiseled chest comes into view and then they’re foaming at the mouth and wiping the drool from their chins. But this was different, I really meant it.

I’d been manhandled by the last pig that would ever bring his sausage near me. After one of the nastiest divorces in history, followed by some of the crudest and raunchiest dates, I’d decided to bat for the other team.

…At least I tried.

But creating the next Brat Pack hadn’t been on the agenda. Neither had Collier West. And I wasn’t prepared for finding true love at the end of my gal-pal tryst.

Lourdes Review:

This story is about the misadventures of Giselle, an independent, divorced, childless woman in her late 30’s who has been playing the field of NSA encounters since the split from her cheating ex. A string of bad dates have left her sexually frustrated and that’s how she comes to the decision of, for lack of a better term, switching teams. As if!!!
While on her adventures in the new realm of dating women, Giselle will make new girlfriends and meet Collier West and his friends. All of them together will become sort of a clan, the same kind you have in HS or college, only older.
This was my first read by this author and I was more than impressed. The book is an experience in laughter, love and friendship. Giselle is completely off her rocker and it’s hard not to like her and her nonsensical ideas (we’ve all made bad decisions, only in her is a pattern) and Collier is just a lovable man dealing with the ridiculously immature women in his life.
Then there are all the secondary characters that come into play, especially Giselle’s BFF, Ronnie, who I was surprised to find here as I’d read about her in Leddy Harper’s I Do, and is one of the most honest friends a woman could ever have.
I really enjoyed this story and it was a great follow up to my last very heavy read. At the end of the day, it is a refreshing rom-com where a grown woman, with a unnatural obsession of nail polish acts like a pre-pubescent girl while coming to terms with her destiny and giving love another chance.
