They’ve spent their lives pushing each other away, but what will happen when they need each other most?
Anita Martin doesn’t expect much from life. Growing up on the street, bouncing from one foster home to another, she learned to rely only on herself. Even after she finally found a loving family to take her in, she was still an outsider—something Abraham, one of the family’s older sons, never let her forget.
Abraham Evans doesn’t know how Ani always manages to get under his skin, only that’s she’s been doing it since they were teens. She is—and always has been—undeniably gorgeous. But he’s never met anyone as pissed off at the world as Ani.
For fifteen years, Ani and Bram have agreed on exactly one thing: they can’t stand each other—until one night when their anger gives way to passion. Yet even as Ani and Bram begin to secretly seek comfort in one another’s arms, they remain emotionally worlds apart. When Ani’s life takes a dramatic turn and she realizes she needs more than Bram can give, their fragile, no-strings relationship unravels. One way or another, Ani is determined to survive. But when Bram finally admits his true feelings, he may discover Ani has moved on without him.
Where and how do I begin to describe the way this book made me feel?? I mean this author came highly recommended by my book friends. I loved “Unbreak My Heart” but this book had me hook, line and sinker!!
Bram and Ani have known each other the last 15 years. They are apart of the same foster family but didn’t grow up together. They are like oil and vinegar. This isn’t your typical romance. They butt heads all the time, can’t stand each other, gives it to the other person straight up no chaser. But they have some hot ass chemistry. The scenes in between the sheets had me fanning myself!! You could feel the passion oozing off the pages.
In this book we have a lot of ups and down. A lot of back and forth and a lot of stubbornness. We also get more of a backstory and history on the two characters. It’s explains why they are the way they are and it all made sense. Let’s talk about the angst factor in this book!   We had some truly sad and heart wrenching moments and I found myself crying several times while reading. I even had to stop reading at one point. My heart just ached  so hard for the family. Even though they aren’t blood they are a true definition of family. They all laughed, smiled and cried and banded together in tough times.
The way Jacquelyn writes and weaves a story is just amazing. Her storytelling at times has left me gutted and yet she always knows how to patch me back up. I was so sad when this book was over. I dare to say this book was better than the first one and that one left me gutted. I can’t wait to see what Jacquelyn will write next for this series. Another top read of 2016 for me!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
When Nicole Jacquelyn was eight and people asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she told them she wanted to be a mom. When she was twelve, her answer changed to author. Her dreams stayed constant. First, she became a mom, and then during her senior year of college–with one daughter in first grade and the other in preschool–she sat down and wrote a story.
