Book Tour+Review: Cole by Tijan
Full Blurb:
I shouldn’t have remembered him.
He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn’t know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.
But I could feel him.
The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…
Cole Mauricio
“Yes, I can imagine that this is all a horrible story. But it’s not a mafia story. It’s a love story…”
Addison Bowman is still grieving the death of her husband after a year and her one and only friend Sia is constantly trying to distract her, reminding her she’s still with the living. That’s how Addison finds herself considering moving in the heart of the city, right downtown, close to where her friend works.
It’s after she moves into her new place that she first sees the mysterious man with the enigmatic eyes and, after a few random encounters, he will make himself visible to her. But Cole Mauricio is no ordinary man. Addison is drawn to him, but she doesn’t really know anything about him and that can be complicated.
What can I say? I really liked this book, period. I love that Cole got his own book, his story told and his own love and heartbreak. I liked learning how different his personality is from Carter’s and how similar their attitudes when it comes to taking care of business. Though Cole is somewhat softer around the edges and seems to have so much of a young kid in him, he can be cold and ruthless when he needs to be.
As all of Tijan’s books, Cole gripped me from the get go. The story, the background, the secrets these characters held whether they knew it or not and the relationships amongst them all. Siawas one I particularly enjoyed, even though I could not envision her as described by the author! 😛
I had a few issues as to the timeline of the killing of Cole’s family (it didn’t give me the right math as to his age, but that’s me) and I felt Addison’s strength somewhat lacking in some instances, but she was still a nice fit for our main man.
At the end of the day, I enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to read more from these characters.

Author Information:
I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.
