Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, sex or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that in order to hold on, sometimes you have to first let go.

Review:

This story was one hell of a ride! Man talk about an emotional roll-coaster. I loved reading about the journey both characters are going through. King has his own demons and issues he is dealing with. Doe has no memory of her past life and is trying to figure out who she is but is struggling. I enjoyed the story, the pacing, but one scene pissed me off to high heavens and that was after the carnival. Like really King after of all that you go and do this to Doe. I wanted to reach into my kindle and shake him!! I actually had several moments of wanting to shake him throughout this book. King was just ugh, I loved and hated him all at the same time. As I continued reading I now understand why he did what he did but man it hurt! I loved the side characters Preppy and Bear. I can’t wait to read about them next. This was a really good first book to a series. I’m excited to see where the author takes this series next especially after that ending!! Talk about plot twist and I’m so happy I don’t have to wait for the next book!
