I didn't choose this path. No one would.

I played the cards I was dealt.

This life made me. This city made me.

I won't apologize for who I've become.

Moses wouldn't have me any other way.

He says he wants forever, and I'm starting to believe him.

But I can't outrun my past, and my sins are catching up with me.

If it's time to atone, I'll gladly pay my penance.

We might be getting our second chance, but we have to make it out alive first.

“I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This does not affect the opinion of the audiobook or the content of the review.”

I couldn’t wait to dive into this audiobook after the way things ended in Creole Kingpin. I enjoyed the progress that Moses and Magnolia made but I felt their story was put to the back because of Mount and Keira. Make no mistakes I love that couple but I wanted more Moses and Magnolia in this concluding story. I felt their romance got pushed to the side and I wanted more since second chance romances are my favorite tropes. The last few chapters had me on edge as usual and I liked how everything was wrapped up.

As usual the narrators knocked it out of the park with their performance. The accents were authentic and they made me feel like I was in New Orleans the whole time I listened.
