In honor of Black History Month, I will be recommending books by African American authors that I have read and loved.

Kindred by Octavia E. Butler
I read this book in high school and it has stayed with me ever since. I did a re read for an online book club and I fell in love with this story all over again.

The cover of this book caught my attention. I ended up hearing wonderful things from book friends and was able to get a last minute review copy. This book ended up being such an unexpected surprise! I purchased a copy once it went live as well and the first book which is a standalone. Then I proceeded to ‘stalk’ the author on Facebook and gush about this story.
