— SYNOPSIS —
After a few years of easy, small-town living as the St. Fleur librarian, Lindsey finds herself in the middle of a love triangle gone wrong. Gifts begin arriving and in time she realizes her confusing feelings over Derek, the sweet history teacher, and Marc, the man she doesn’t remember, is the least of her troubles. Her complicated love life takes a violent turn when she learns there is a stalker watching her every move.
When Marc visited his best friend’s new home months ago, he didn’t expect to meet the first woman to awaken his desire for more since he was a teen. Too bad she’s already taken. When their shared attraction leads them to the truth, will they finally get the happily ever after they both want?
Or will her current man, his best friend, and her stalker be the nails in the coffin of their attraction?
*Review*
So after reading Widower’s Aura I was excited to read about Lindsey and Marc. Lindsey and Marc grew up together as he was best friends with her older brother, Andrew. During the story we are given flashbacks of how their attraction all began which I liked. This story in addition to being a second chance romance also has some suspenseful moments as well. We have stalker who is obsessed with Lindsey. The author did a good job of giving us little hints and clues along the way and the person I suspected was the stalker. It’s always the ones you least expect! So back to the romance aspect of the story. Lindsey and Marc are insanely attracted to each other but I wish they had better communication with each other. Several times I wanted to shout “JUST TALK IT OUT”!!!! But as the book progressed they were able to express themselves better and I love seeing a couple grow! We also got to catch up with Sofia and Nick who were the main couple in the first book. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series as Renee’s writing and storytelling flowed and improved in this book!

Exclusive Interview:
A.J. Renee was kind enough to do an interview and I’m so excited to share it with you all!
1) If you could be any of your book characters who would you be and why?
Good question! I think I would be Lindsey. She works with books all day long! Sure she attracts a creep in Always Mine but she finally gets the man she never thought she’d have. I really enjoyed writing her and there are so many pieces of me in her and people who I love in those she loves. Lindsey is someone who is happy with what she has, she doesn’t want for much. I think that’s a great way to live.
2) What inspired you to write about supernatural elements (aura) in your first book?
Regardless of what others believe, I do believe that some individuals are gifted in this world. I myself cannot see auras but this got me thinking about why? Why can they see auras? What if there was someone who had no aura? This would go against the thought process of an aura being the essence of a person. I mean, we all have things specific to us so what if you couldn’t see it when you could see others? What does it mean? So the idea kind of snow balled for me. I wanted this trait of Sofia’s to be just that, a trait. A piece of her the same way other physical or personal traits are a part of us. We aren’t defined by them, they are just a piece of the puzzle that makes us, well us.
3) Favorite book?
I’ve read so many great books so this is a hard question! One of my all time favorite authors is Julie Garwood. I especially love Shadow Dance. It’s a brother’s best friend story. Noah is such a womanizer but seeing him fall for Jordan… I love it! Makes me want to read it again for the millionth time just talking about it.
4) Favorite thing to do besides writing?
As cliché as it is… hanging out with my family. I have three young daughters, 7, 5, and 3 next month. They make me bonkers most days but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know I’m extremely blessed to be able to be at home with my girls. If you want a favorite past time then it would be reading. Since I’ve started this publishing process I don’t read nearly as much as I used to. As I sit here freezing my butt off I am also considering grabbing my crocheting needles and yarn to make myself some leg warmers. Seriously, Vegas can feel cold after a while.
5) What advice would you offer new writers?
Another hard question since I still consider myself a new writer. Patience. It’s not my strong suit but it’s something you need in writing. We are our biggest critics and can be so hard on ourselves. We need to find patience with the process and ourselves. Take our time. Don’t rush any of it. Always remember that you can’t please everyone either. Sometimes what you write is not someone else’s cup of tea and that’s okay.
6) Favorite color? Food?
Hahaha okay so first off, I’m Puerto Rican. What does this have to do with food? We don’t always eat “normal” food. My favorite dish is Guineitos en Escabeche con Mollejitas. A mouthful of a name, I know. It’s cooked green bananas with sauteed onions and chicken gizzards. Many of you are cringing, I know, but man is my stomach growling just thinking about it!
My favorite color? I love hot pink and the darker purples, like Mardi Gras purple or the deeper shades you see on the cover of Widower’s Aura.
This was fun! Thanks again for interviewingme! I hope everyone enjoys a little insight into my not so sane world. 😉
Happy reading fellow bookworms!

— EXCERPT —
“Tu casa es mi casa,” he said with his most charming smile as he took in her short, beautiful legs.
Bending forward, she gave him the best view in the house, and he nearly swallowed his tongue. Her head turned enticingly toward him, her dark brown hair falling to the other side as she rolled her eyes at him.
“Um, isn’t the saying supposed to be ‘Mi casa es tu casa’?” She snickered and straightened as she turned away.
Reaching forward before his mind could stop him, Marc gently grabbed her wrist and gave her a tug. She fell into his lap with an “oof,” and she stared at him in panic. Marc pulled her incredibly soft legs over his own, so she sat sideways. With the new position, she placed her hand on his shoulder for purchase.
“Marc?” Her breathy voice shook with confusion and anticipation.
Hearing his name roll off her lips made his blood rush straight to his groin. Her eyes widened and darkened with desire at the change.
“Si, mi cielo?” Marc’s gaze moved down to her lips. Heat flooded his body, his heart took off, and he became mesmerized by the way she pulled in her lower lip and bit down hard. A groan escaped him, and he pulled the tender flesh out of her mouth with his thumb. Marc rubbed the rosy, soft skin.
When Marc leaned forward, Lindsey asked, “What are you doing?”
Examining her face, he noticed the soft blush across her fair skin. Her light brown eyes had flecks of yellow and green, something no one would notice unless they were as close or as focused as he was. The idea of anyone else being this close to her made him crazy. A faint scar an inch long marred the delicate skin under her left eye. Most wouldn’t notice that either, but he’d been there the night she got it. His thumb swiped at it as the memory of her bumping into him as a kid while they played Ghosts in the Graveyard came to mind. Her glasses had slammed into her face, creating a gash that had luckily not required stitches.
Marc’s lips came within a breath of hers. He searched her eyes for any signs of distress and found none. His lips grazed hers at the same time a door closed in the hall.

— ABOUT THE AUTHOR: AJ RENEE —
Author to Widower’s Aura, Always Mine, and Finding love at the falls…. I’m a military wife and mother to three girls seven and under. Prior to these roles I lived in Florida where I attended the University of Central Florida. I received my Masters of Science in Criminal Justice and Bachelors of Science in Psychology. A decade later and I haven’t used either.
Writing a book was never a goal of mine, funny how life works out sometimes. I thought I would work for one of the many agencies that specialize in justice. Instead I decided to focus on a family once we married.
When I’m not shuttling my daughters around, you can find me at my laptop. I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.
