Review: The Wright Boss by K.A. Linde

TWBoss iBooksA new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I’ve always had one rule:

Don’t mix business and pleasure.

But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.

If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.

We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.

Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

K.A.  Linde captures your heart with The Wright Boss. With rules in place and what works for her, does Heidi take a chance with her heart?  With not reading The Wright Brother, it didn’t matter with understanding the characters and flow.  I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamics and chemistry of Logan and Heidi.

Heidi has a rule of not dating co-workers, bosses and married men.  She takes her job seriously and has worked her way up the ladder.  She wants to make a name for herself but working in a dominated men’s world, it’s harder for a man to accept she can do a better job than him.   With her rules in place, she wasn’t expecting Logan Wright breaking havoc in her life.  They both have a pull to each other.  But one major flaw.  He’s  married to an evil woman who is family hates.  And they are not the only one.  Logan is done and filing for divorce. So now that rule is out and Logan and Heidi is on.  With being friends for quite some time, they know each other well. They know their ins and outs.  When the two come together, it’s magic.  They are just not two people, they are one.

But the shoe drops and another rule is in play.  When he becomes her boss, they both have to decide if they should pursue a romantic relationship or let it fizzle out. Just because he’s a Wright doesn’t mean he’s actually right.

I can’t wait to read more of Linde.  I’ve read her work before and always capture my attention.  You will not be disappointed.

Landon is trapped in a miserable marriage. He knew he shouldn’t have married Miranda but he did it anyway. Landon is also dealing with several crossroads in his life. Between his failing marriage and career in jeopardy he couldn’t buy a break at this point. I really loved Landon’s character because all he wanted was a family and to do the right thing. He took his father’s death the hardest in my opinion and wanted to make him proud. Landon means well but he was just trying to do the right things with the wrong person.

Heidi, I loved this character so much!! She was strong, fierce, independent and took mess from nobody! She had goals and was focused on her career which I loved. Even though Heidi may seem tough on the outside there’s another side to her. A very vulnerable side and I loved how that side came out with Landon. He gave her a lot of strength to comes to terms with her father and their issues. It was nice seeing this side of Heidi and I loved them as a couple.

Reading this book gave me classic K.A. Linde feels!! The angst, the push and pull, the knot in my stomach, the anxiety of what was going to happen next. Do I keep reading? No, let me stop reading but I can’t because I have to know. But I don’t want to know because I’m scared. I love/hate having that waiting for that other shoe to drop and have the rug pulled from under you feeling. But what can I say? I’m a sucker for angst and Linde didn’t disappoint at all with this story. Her writing is like a fine wine and only gets better. The story flowed, the pacing was on point, the characters are flawed but loveable. There was no need for unnecessary drama. It was the perfect amount for my angst loving heart. You can’t help but get sucked in! I felt like the story was written just for me and snapped me right out of my book funk. I can’t wait to read about Austin and his shenanigans next!
