Joe boosts cars to pay a debt that his long lost cowardly father incurred.  Darcey watches over him to make sure he is not picked up by the police. While watching over Joe, Darcey developed a crush on him.  Even running off women at bar playing his wife. The same can be true with Joe after a hot and heated kiss with Darcey.

However, Darcey is the enemy.  She’s the niece of local crime family.  But once Joe finds out the why she did what she did, he understands that family is important to her. You can see how Joe falls for her with scouting cars and daily interactions.  Darcey’s end goal is get her baby brother back from her conniving step-father.  And Joe will help her anyway he can.

Joe has a wicked sense of humor. A jokester and clown of his family.  His humor is infectious.  Loved the way he called his manhood and the way Darcey plays it off. Their banter with one another had me laughing out loud. He also has a huge heart and will do anything for his family.  He has a serious side but doesn’t show it.  “You use this thing between us, the way I feel about you-against me like you just did, you will lose me”.  Darcey tries to protect him from her step-father and the chances to get her brother.  She says things to push him away.  My heart hurt for both of them because you could see the love between them.  But knew the both couldn’t have a happy ending.

I enjoyed reading Spin.  This is the second book of the series of Boosted Hearts.  You do not need to read the first book to understand Spin.
