Cameron is suffering from MAJOR trust issues. Honestly I can’t say that I blame her for being this way. Her parents passed away before she turned 18. Her ex boyfriend betrayed her trust in the worst way. So it’s no surprise she’s on the fence with Jacob. They spent one unforgettable night together and he just left, no word, note, nothing. So after this she’s pretty much closed off and guarded.
Jacob has always regretted the way he left things with Cameron. She was the one who got away and the one he can’t forget no matter how hard he tries. Doesn’t help that his sister, Grace is best friends with her. Will Jacob be able to prove to Cameron he deserves another chance? Is Jacob worth another chance?
So this story had a lot going on! Cameron and Jacob have a past history. Jacob wants to win Cameron back so he comes clean about why he left her that one night. Once the secret comes out (it’s a good one) I get why he did what he did. Cameron on the other hand made the boy guy suffer over and over. I mean come on!! Jacob did the right thing given his situation. Granted he could have called her but still. Cameron was too immature at times in this book and she worked my last nerve. Very hot and cold. Jacob had patience of a Saint throughout this story. We have a lot of tense moments and I did enjoy those moments. I love reading a book and not quite knowing where the book was heading at times. I’m also happy to report that Cameron improved as the book went on and I ended up liking her better.
We are also introduced to secondary characters Grace and Aidan. Aidan is best friends with Jacob. He lost his wife and hasn’t been able to move on. Grace has feelings for Aidan. We all know where this is headed! So at this point in my mind there has to be a book about them coming soon! You can tell this book will be gut wrenching! Don’t let me down, Moose!
S. Moose is an author that I’ve heard of and never read until now. For my first time reading I have to say I did enjoy the story. The plot was good and held my attention. I did have one minor issue but nonetheless it was still a good read.
