Review: The Neighborhood by Stylo Fantome

Katya Tocci is willing to admit that she may have bitten off more than she could chew.
Liam Edenhoff showed her a side of life she’d been missing out on – sex and friendship and tacos. But then he betrayed her.
Wulfric Stone taught her that big surprises can come from unexpected places – like from a surly, aggressive, withdrawn bastard. But then he broke her heart.
Now one of them wants forgiveness, and the other wants forever. And Katya? She just wants to forget.
Who knew neighbors could be so difficult?
So after the bombshell that was dropped in Neighbors we have Katya trying to pick up the pieces. Both Wulf and Liam are both sorry and want Katya to forgive and pick them as her boyfriend. As expected Katya is undecided on what to do. She comes up with this plan to make them suffer and feel the way she did. I was on board with this plan 100%. As the book and the plan progresses Katya got on my nerves! She was so annoying and wishy washy.
First off she comes up with this no sex rule with either guy. She then proceeds to break this rule and leave one guy in the dark and string him along the rest of the book. Katya knew how this guy felt and this wasn’t cool. Yes, both guys hurt her but they are trying to do right by her and this is what she does. After she has sex with the one guy she’s like I still can’t trust him. Here we friggin go!! You shouldn’t have slept with him!!! Duh!!! After they have sex she gets into a fight with him and uses the other guy to make him jealous. Poor thing had no idea and thought she really wanted to be with him. This part I didn’t agree with because I thought they were making progress. Sighs.
As the book progresses I didn’t want either guy to be with her because of her actions. I went from feeling sorry for her to being angry with her actions. Despite me not wanting to continue reading, the book took an unexpected turn and when that happens a certain guy steps up to the plate. It was nice seeing this side of him and I didn’t expect him do what he did. I believe this is the reason why Katya chose him in the end. I honestly didn’t know who she was going to pick because they both had tender moments as well as jerk moments.
This story was definitely one for the books. I went from loving the heroine, to not standing her and back to liking her. I went from rooting for one guy and falling for the other guy. This book kept me hooked up until the very end because I had no idea who she was going to choose. I mean how could you choose? They both had good and bad things about them and the author kept you guessing the whole time. And yes the next book will be about the one she didn’t pick.

About the Author
Crazy woman from an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.
Yeah. I think that about sums me up.
