New Release+Review: Ruin by Samantha Towle
From Samantha Towle, the New York Times bestselling author of Wardrobe Malfunctionand Breaking Hollywood, comes a dramatically powerful and passionate new contemporary romance.
And the new heavyweight champion of the world is…
Those are the words that Zeus Kincaid has been waiting to hear since he first put on a pair of boxing gloves. He just didn’t think they would come with a tragedy that would change how he viewed the sport forever.
Cameron Reed was in her second year at Juilliard when her childhood sweetheart, Zeus Kincaid, walked away from her. A few months later, Cam realized that she would never fulfill her dream of dancing for the New York City Ballet.
Now working as a dancer in an upscale club in Manhattan, Cam is brought face-to-face with the man she once loved. And it’s her turn to walk away from him.
After five years of missing Cam, Zeus isn’t prepared to let her go again. But when he finds himself standing on her doorstep the next morning, things don’t go quite as he expected…
Zeus and Cameron aka Cam had been teenage sweethearts but they hit some bumps in the road and their relationship ended. Several years later they reconnect and Zeus finds out that Cam had his child which he knew nothing about and it was so sad. I kind of figured out the reasons why he didn’t know and even though I was right it still didn’t make me feel better. Cam as predicted has her walls all the way and I don’t blame her at all. I have to say I LOVED how alpha male Zeus was in this story! He was the perfect combination of alpha, broody but with an heart of gold. Zeus stopped at nothing when it came to Cam and his daughter, Gigi. Cam was a spitfire as well, made him earn her trust which I loved and in my opinion they were perfect book couple goals. They fought and loved hard with so much passion and I found myself fanning myself while reading!
This was such a well written, angsty, second chance romance that I could not put down!!!! It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to bed and woken up thinking about a book!! I wish I could re read this book for the first time. Where’s that light flash thingy from “Men In Black” when you need it?? Towle has such a way with words and she had me hook, line and sinker with this wonderful 5 star story!! I’ve been perfectly ruined by this story. *sighs*
