My thoughts:
Abby Jimenez has done it again.
I LOVED this book so much and it took me out of my dreaded end of the year slump.
I told myself I would take my time with this book and inhaled it in two days. HA! This story is much more than a typical romance novel. Don’t get me wrong there’s romance and I loved the connection that Vanessa and Adrian shared, but this story will make you stop and think about life, your choices, everything. I found myself reflecting because at times I do feel like I’m not living life to it’s fullest and I need to do better.
I laughed, smiled and teared up all while reading this story. I related to this story on SO many levels. Growing up my Dad was addicted to drugs and it tore our family apart. Having a family member that is an addict is NO joke and having one for a parent is a special kind of torture. This book also touches on terminal illnesses, anxiety issues and family dynamics. It showcased the good, the bad, the ugly and this book was JUST what I needed to close out a tough year.
After reading this story, Jimenez has rightfully earned a spot on my favorite author list. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this heartfelt story when it releases in April. When you do make sure to check out the authors note as well.
About the Book:
A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist. When Vanessa Price quit her job to pursue her dream of traveling the globe, she wasn’t expecting to gain millions of YouTube followers who shared her joy of seizing every moment. For her, living each day to its fullest isn’t just a motto. Her mother and sister never saw the age of 30, and Vanessa doesn’t want to take anything for granted. But after her half sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her baby daughter, life goes from “daily adventure” to “next-level bad” (now with bonus baby vomit in hair). The last person Vanessa expects to show up offering help is the hot lawyer next door, Adrian Copeland. After all, she barely knows him. No one warned her that he was the Secret Baby Tamer or that she’d be spending a whole lot of time with him and his geriatric Chihuahua. Now she’s feeling things she’s vowed not to feel. Because the only thing worse than falling for Adrian is finding a little hope for a future she may never see.
I just finished this the other day and really liked it. I’m ready for her next book.
