Synopsis: I’m used to going for the easy things in life.
The easy A in school.
The easy lay in bed. The easy life my trust fund affords me.
Until I met Shelby.
Never in my life have I found retro T-shirts and ChapStick so damn sexy.
She’s exactly what I never knew I wanted.
And she’s *anything* but easy.
But suddenly, easy is overrated.
Only one damn problem… For Shelby, *hating me* is easy.
For the first time in my life, I have to work for something. And though
she may not be easy…she’ll be worth it.
she may not be easy…she’ll be worth it.
Shelby is ready to start her senior year in college. New apartment, less work hours and a sharp focus on her goals are the key to her success. Tate is handsome, rich and totally carefree; a guy living the easy life. He hasn’t meet the girl who can resist his charms until Shelby comes along.
She’s not impressed by the rich boy type who thinks that can get away with anything while he’s impressed by a girl who’s not looking at him as a ticket to a constant party or to get expensive gifts and dates. Tate works extra hard to find out what’s wrong in Shelby’s life and, though he acts like a jerk sometimes, he breaks every mold by trying to understand her issues and help her overcome them.
This is my first read by Ms. Collins and I have to say I was very impressed. I didn’t know what to expect from Blind Spot, but it’s a book that presents us characters with serious problems, but that are in essence good people who have experience hurt and loss along their lives and who go the extra mile to learn how to heal each other. I loved Tate, his strength of character and how he’s always prepared to do whatever he has to in order to bring Shelby out of the dark. The secondary characters were also a nice touch and the epilogue had me bawling. Blind Spot is most definitely a good read.
