When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she's forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did - which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can't seem to let her go again. Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?
This was my first time “reading” anything by Kylie Scott and I have to say it was a good book. Clementine suffered a violent attack and has no memory. Clem ends up seeing her ex boyfriend, Ed, who she broke up with on bad terms. To stay things are tense between the two are an understatement. Clem is trying to move on after the attack but how can you move on, when you don’t know you were before? I’m all for starting over but I couldn’t imagine losing my memories and not knowing who I really am but I have to say Clem handles it with grace. I loved that you could feel the tension between Ed and Clem. You can tell Ed still cares for her but he doesn’t want to get burned. The chemistry and tension between them were off the chain. This was a really good second chance romance with some suspense that had me intrigued. I loved the story but the ending felt SO rush and the persons motives (in my opinion) completely lack luster and I could have done with that part. I listened to this book on audio and Andi Arndt did a wonderful job as always!
