Ryker
She is the epitome of the girl next door, but with a feistiness that makes my dick throb.
I’m drawn to her like no other. She stirs things in me I have no desire to feel, makes me long for things I shouldn’t.
This is my game. I choose the players, and I never play for keeps.
I don’t believe in fate. I make my own destiny. I work hard and play harder. Luck is for pussies, karma for idiots. Me, I make shit happen.
Meeting her fucked up my plan. Threw me off my game.
I’m now face to face with my karma. Her name is Kat Rollins.

Kat
Ryker Eddison is the epitome of a player. You know the type: Mr. Get In and Get Out.
He’s all about the chase, wanting just one night. Everyone knows this—I know this. Still, I find myself craving him, my greedy body betraying what my heart and mind already know: he will only bring me pain.
He’s the guy who girls like me should avoid. I’m smart; I know better. But when I’m with him, I feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I never knew I wanted.
I can’t deny it … I like the chase. The high is explosive, but I’m afraid if I give in, I may end up losing more than I can handle: my heart.

On the Rocks (Book 2)

Braunwyn
Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.
Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.
Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him.
He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him.
This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.
Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?

Levi
Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.
She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.
I was drawn to her immediately.
Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul.
I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how.
This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.
In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

***SPECIAL NOTE ***
Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

One Last Shot (Book 3)

My name is Claire Knox.
People say I’m the female version of a player: a boyslayer, if you’re fluent in urban dictionary speak.
I hate long term relationships. I’ll never commit to sticking around long enough to get attached to the notion of love, marriage, or the proverbial two point five kids.
No sirree Not this girl.
There’s no way I’ll let myself get hurt by losing someone I love ever again.
Been there, felt that.
Consider me damaged goods if you will, but I’m happy.
Or so I thought, until my path crossed his again…

Pub Fiction Series by Gillian Jones   As the name says it, this is a 3 book series that evolve around a pub in a university town.  The books go as follows: My Mind’s Eye – Ryker & Kat In this book we meet Kat, a girl in her last year at the university who’s ready to make the best of this last hoorah as a student after suffering a traumatic experience at the very end of the previous year.  Coming out of a bad relationship, she’s focusing on school, her new job at Pub Fiction and having fun, not looking for boy trouble.  At her new job, she meets Ryker, a consummate player, bartender extraordinaire and brother to the pub’s owner.  Needless to say, the attraction is immediate and these two are in for way more than they bargain for.   On the Rocks – Braunwyn & LeviLevi is Pub Fiction’s proud owner, a man whose only mistress is his bar and who’s never been interested in a relationship until he meets his newest employee, Braunwyn.  He knows she’s hiding things and he is willing to uncover each and every one of them.  They share an intense attraction, but choose to be friends given the fact that she’s not ready for a relationship after what happened with her boyfriend and how he left her while she was 18 and pregnant with their daughter.   After more than 4 years, she’s still dealing with feelings of guilt and thinks every step to reclaim her life is cheating on the late Shawn.  One Last Shot – Claire and MattWe met the vivacious, carefree Claire in MME and she’s a force to be reckoned with.  Unfortunately, she also has baggage and, when she found herself falling in love, she decided packing up and moving away after finishing her education was the right thing to do.  Two years later, she moves back home and Matt is still waiting for the opportunity to claim the love he knows she feels for him, but Claire’s defenses may be harder to conquer than they all expect.  The Pub Fiction series is about women dealing with different issues: PTSD, suicide and grief.  I have to say, this is not my usual kind of read and I chose to review these books because I’d read Call Me and I really enjoyed the story, the author’s writing style and the way she incorporates and deals with the social issues and their implications.Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the same way with these stories and, in my opinion, it’s because the Pub Fiction books are earlier works and lack the polish of the more recent book.On the plus side, I have to say I do admire the way the author brings these issues into the story, the trauma these women have and how the support of family, friends and loved ones can make a difference in a life.  There are also fun moments, unbreakable friendships and the second book is laced with the purest loveone can find in the relationship that develops between big bad boy Levi and sweet little Emme.  The premise of the books is a good one and these are stories people can definitely relate to, unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed on the slow pace and redundancy, especially in the first book.     3 Book Corner Stars
