Marlee thought she scored the man of her dreams only to be scorched by a bad breakup. But there's a new player on the horizon, and he's in a league of his own...

Marlee Harper is the perfect girlfriend. She's definitely had enough practice by dating her NFL-star boyfriend for the last ten years. But when she discovers he has been tackling other women on the sly, she vows to never date an athlete again. There's just one problem: Gavin Pope, the new hotshot quarterback and a fling from the past, has Marlee in his sights.

Gavin fights to show Marlee he's nothing like her ex. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to let her escape her past. The team's wives, who never led the welcome wagon, are not happy with Marlee's return. They have only one thing on their minds: taking her down. But when the gossip makes Marlee public enemy number one, she worries about more than just her reputation.

Between their own fumbles and the wicked wives, it will take a Hail Mary for Marlee and Gavin's relationship to survive the season.

Review:

This book came highly recommended by several Book friends and bloggers. I was curious to read as I am a BIG sports fan and the characters in this book are diverse. I’m happy to report this was a great read!! The story had me laughing out loud so many times and I loved the hashtags.

Gavin and Marlee have wonderful chemistry and I loved their banter. Gavin was so sweet and swoon worthy. #PerfectBookBoyfriend I loved how he always wanted to defend and take care of Marlee even when he knew she would be upset. I need a Gavin in my life!

Marlee is a strong woman and likes to take care of herself. She’s opinionated and has a heart of gold! . Marlee was such a cool chick and didn’t let the whole I’m dating a professional athlete get to her head and I’m glad she was grounded. Some of the other football player wives were much to be desired and Marlee handle them with grace.

I have to say what really sold me on this story was that the sports part was spot on and the author knew her stuff! There is NOTHING worse than reading a sports romance book and the author has NO clue what they are talking about! Trust me, I’ve been there and it’s ugly. *Shudders*

This book also had the perfect blend of romance as well. Sometimes this can be a difficult task to accomplish but Martin did an excellent job! I loved the build up, the connection and I loved the way the story had such a realistic feel. The drama wasn’t over the top and I loved how Marlee grew from her prior relationship.

It’s hard to believe this is Alexa Martin’s first book as she knocked it out the park with this story. #Touchdown I can’t wait for TK’s story next year! #HowManyDaysToFumbled?
