A cross-country trip is about to take her to a brand-new life she never imagined. When Whit Barklay unexpectedly enters the picture, she begins the ride of her life—one filled with thrills and twists and turns. It’s time to figure out where she belongs. It’s time to find her way. Will Whit detour Carrigan from finding her true chance at happiness? Or will he be her North Star, pointing her to a better life with him?

One cross-country train ride to a brand-new life.
One man she never expected.
One relationship she’s too scared to begin.
One risk she may not be willing to take . . .
Unless he can show her she’s only bent and not broken.

Review:

Bent was a well written debut by Hollis Wynn. Carrigan is looking to start over and step into the next chapter of her life. On her travels she meets, Whit and there is an instant attraction. They part ways but stay in touch. Carrigan comes into her own as she finds her footing. I liked the premise but I had a really hard time connecting to Carrigan. I liked her but I just couldn’t connect the way I wanted. The whole “relationship” with Whit just didn’t sit right with me and as the book continues my question was answered. I also felt like the relationship was rushed and didn’t feel their connection. So when the characters were all distraught it didn’t do anything for me. I liked the secondary characters and for a debut author this is a solid debut. The writing was good and the story flowed. It had a beautiful message. I just didn’t fully connect to characters the way I wanted.
