Kam was my choice…
The one who stole my heart instantly.

Kane was my chance…
The one who set me ablaze with just one look.

They were my moment…
Two brothers that both owned a part of me.
Two brothers that I loved in different ways for different reasons.

One brother shattered my heart.
The other put it back together.
Both changed me forever.

The Road to You is a standalone contemporary romance.

I knew going in that I would be floored when reading “The Road To You”.  And Melissa Toppen brought  tears to my eyes.   Falling in love with two brothers.  Who at times are similar but are so drastically different.  When you feel guilty because one is alive and the other one is dead.   How is the heart supposed to chose to go forward or to die with them?
The Road To You brings us Elara, Kam and Kane.  Their budding friendship of Kam (Tater Tot) and Elara (Butter Bean) when they were just teenagers.  With summer vacations and then moving permanently, Kam and Elara where attached at the hip.  Best friends.  As the years progressed, they both wanted more but afraid to say anything to one another.  When finally having the courage to express their true feelings, their happiness turned into a tragic event.
With heartbreak and guilt, part of Elara died with Kam.  She knew that she would never be the same.  At the funeral, her eyes landed on Kane, Kam’s older brother.  Both grieving, they find comfort and friendship with each other. With an offer of a lifetime, Elara accompanies Kane with a trip to Italy.  Kane helps her move forward to find happiness and peace once again.  They both learn from each other.  And Elara realizes the love she once had with Kam was not the same for Kane.  She loved Kane so much more.  Elara had to find herself first before she could go forward and with that she had to learn to forgive herself.
I absolutely loved this story.   Such a beautiful and emotional journey.  With grief to joy, Elara and Kane knew that they were given a gift of love.
